One method you can use when the lender has filed a Notice of Default is to sell your home instead of waiting for the foreclosure to come. You can contact a real estate agent who can help you with the sale and who can inform you about the market value.
This is a better way to take care of the problem than to just sit down and wait for the foreclosure to come.
It won’t give you the house back but at least it’ll stop house foreclosure and it might give you a chance to buy a new home later.
